AUTHOR'S LETTER
I started Writing this Manga back in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown. I still had work. but they changed my job to be a front desk guy making sure people new the rules of masks and vaccine stuff before they entered the building. it was really boring and they said we weren't allowed to be on our phones. So sitting there I remembered a world, and story I've been writing and adding on too since elementary school after watching a bunch of DSI Flipnote stick fights me and my old friend use to watch. These characters specifically are about 10 years old and they've gone through A LOT of changes. I started making the storyboards to this Manga at that desk job. I had no plans to really actually make the manga until like 30 years probably when I felt that I was ready, it was just something to pass the time. I don't know why I started this project now, even though I had loads more that I had to do. I guess something was calling me to bring these characters to life now or never. I'm glad I did this, it began a journey of a art path I had no idea I would enter. I learned a lot about my skill set, about art, about aesthetics, writing. This story is very personal, not in terms of how connected the story is to my life, no. It felt personal because I was making the childhood me happy, I was fulfilling our dream, I was doing it, and when I finally finished that final page, ending this small story that is part of a much bigger world. I felt an emotion that I could only describe as, beautiful peace. Beauty. I love these characters so much. I cried when they did, I hurt when they did, but I was happy when they were. I hope you feel the same way, or at least understand why this entire project is important to me.
Love, Naiko Ji
